Drinking water purification is achieved with innovative MicroTrapp™ technology. This technology allows the system to be tested and certified by the National Sanitary Institution (NSF) for performance in accordance with ANSI/NSF Standard 42 Class I standards for chlorine retention, suspended solids removal, and elimination of unpleasant odors and tastes, as well as ANSI/NSF Standard 53 for the retention of organic industrial contaminants, pesticides, herbicides, chlorination byproducts (THMs), MTBE, turbidity, lead, microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, etc.

The filtration process is as follows: Tap water enters through the top of the filter. Once inside the filter, the water, due to the pressure it travels under, passes through the activated carbon cartridge. The water that exits the cartridge is clean water that no longer contains contaminants, organic matter, or substances that pose a risk to our health. This water continues its path to the plume installed above the sink, activating the monitoring sensor, which will indicate when it's time to change the cartridge.

The cartridge used in the filter is certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of chloramine, chlorine taste and odor, and Class I particulates; NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for the reduction of lead, cysts, VOCs, MTBE, and turbidity; and NSF/ANSI Standard 372 for compliance with lead-free products under the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act when used in the CT-45E or UC-45E systems.

The filter is very easy to install and is installed under the sink, connecting to its own CWF (Clean Water Faucet). The UC45 SE system's electronic faucet is small and elegant, allowing it to be placed anywhere conveniently on the sink to avoid obstructing the flow of water.
